There’s a moment in life that can change everything—sometimes it’s as simple as being truly seen.
For me, that moment came through Johann and his family.
They saw me—not just the kid struggling to get by, but a human being.
When I shared my story with Johann, he told his parents.
The next day, they paid my soccer fees and even started driving me to my reserve—out of their way, just to help me.
They invited me into their home on the weekends.
And it wasn’t just Johan.
Kids from other farms started asking me to visit them too.
Walking into their homes, I was amazed: their own rooms, regular meals, warmth and care.
For the first time, I glimpsed a life I hadn’t dared to imagine for myself.
My mind expanded.
And that’s the key: that our minds expand, they don’t contract.
Expansion creates desire for more growth, more opportunity, more possibility.
We are meant to grow.
We are meant to move.
But growth doesn’t happen by chance—we have to push ourselves and embrace new experiences.
When someone sees you, believes in you, or gives you a chance, it can open doors—not just externally, but internally.
It can stretch your mind, inspire new dreams, and remind you that you are capable of more than you’ve imagined.
