Lessons Passed Down Through Generations

Remember the The Power of Listening

Some of the wisdom I share doesn’t come from books or modern classrooms.

It comes from my ancestors.

These teachings have been passed down from generation to generation, carried not on paper, but through voices.

Stories and presence.

In our culture, learning meant being there.

Sitting with an elder.

Listening with your whole being.

There were no textbooks, no recordings.

You learned by showing respect.

You learned by giving your ears and your attention.

As children, we would bow our heads, not out of shame, but out of reverence.

When we bow, we’re ready to receive the words that shaped who we became.

These lessons remind us of something powerful:

Real growth begins when we slow down.

Real growth begins when we listen deeply.

Real growth begins when we and honour the wisdom that came before us.
