Work With What You Have

I’m grateful to be with you today.

I’m here to bring a message of hope.

A message of resilience.

A message about working together.

Thriving together.

And doing the best we can with what’s in front of us.

When I was growing up, I heard a message over and over again.

“Work with what you have.”

Whatever is in front of you—start there.

It doesn’t matter if it’s small.

It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t look like what someone else has.

You don’t need to wait for the perfect tools, the perfect moment, or the perfect plan.

You just need to begin.

I was told not to compare myself to other people.

And that’s a hard one, isn’t it?

Especially today, when we’re constantly reminded of what others have.

But just because someone else has more—more money, more time, more support—doesn’t mean you can’t work for what you want.

It doesn’t mean your effort is any less meaningful.

It doesn’t mean your dream is out of reach.

Starting small doesn’t mean thinking small.

It means you’re building something that’s yours.

And that matters.

So today, I want to remind you—look at what’s already in your hands.

Look at the people around you.

Look at the skills you’ve gathered, the experience you’ve earned, and the heart you bring to the table.

That is enough to start.

And starting is where all great things begin.
